China didn’t wait for others' salvation but fought bravely to repel aggression. This war was earthshaking, was time consuming, was arduous, and more importantly, this was a magnificent war that all the Chinese should remember in their minds and be proud of. It is because of the many unknown heroes who suffered and fought together against the enemies with their loyalty, their generosity, their courage and lofty ideals that China is what it is today.
南京: “自城陷至1938年1月，短短6个星期，曾经盛极一时的六朝古都，中华民国的首都南京变成了名副其实的人间地狱。白天, 城內与四郊，除了橫冲直撞的日寇，已不见人影; 夜晚，除了日寇所在地发出的几点灯光外，一片漆黑。这座拥有悠久历史，灿烂文化的文明古城遭到了空前的浩劫。一时，残垣，浓烟，淫笑，哀号，充斥街巷，满目末日景象。”
From the time when the city was fallen until January 1938, in only six weeks, Nanjing, the once glorious city, capital of Republic of China, had become hell, a nightmarish hell full of smoke, broken houses, nasty laughter and piercing cries. During daytime, no individual can be seen on the street except the rampageous Japanese soldiers; at night, no light can be seen elsewhere except the locations of Japanese armies.
